About the surrounding area: This villas rural setting amongst pine trees, olive groves and rugged hillside offers nothing but peace, tranquillity and breathtaking views. The villa is only 5 kilometres from the cosmopolitan capital of Skiathos which boasts two harbour areas separated by a rocky outcrop known as the Bourtzi. The old sector is full of charming cobbled lanes with whitewashed houses, flowered courtyards, traditional Tavernas and colourful fishing boats bobbing in the harbour. The modern part of town with the bigger and busier port features stylish shops, upmarket restaurants and elegant bars.
You are spoilt for choice when it comes to beaches in Skiathos, you can choose from organised beaches backed by tavernas and bars with sun beds and umbrellas for rent, to almost deserted rocky outcrops offering good snorkelling opportunities. The nearest beaches to the villa are Xanemos and Megali Ammos although many others are worth venturing to. Even Koukounaries which is probably the islands most well known beach and situated at the far end of the island is still within an easy 25-30 minute drive.
Immaculate gardens bursting with colour and fragrance surround the extensive grounds on which this villa is set. Timber ceilings and floors give an almost country mansion feel to this beautiful villa with breathtaking views perched on the hillside above the islands capital.
The door opens onto an entrance hallway that leads to the villas two open plan sitting areas, one with corner fireplace, satellite TV and DVD player and the other with comfortable sofas and large doors that open onto a spacious verandah. The separate fully equipped kitchen features an electric oven and gas hob, fridge/freezer, microwave and dishwasher. The washing machine is located in the utility room also found on the ground floor. A table and 4 chairs are available in the kitchen for informal dining whilst a large extendable dining table with 6 high backed chairs is available for more formal dining.
A wide wooden staircase sweeps up to the first floor where the three bedrooms are located. The spacious master double bedroom features a walk in wardrobe and a private balcony with sea views. A second double bed is positioned on a mezzanine platform with large picture windows where you can wake up to fabulous sea and countryside views. The final bedroom is a twin bedded room with private balcony. Leading to the sleeping area of this bedroom is another room that can be used a children’s play room or an additional sleeping area as it is furnished with two sofa beds. A full family bathroom can be found on each floor.
Air conditioning (split units for both cooling and heating) are provided in all bedrooms. A hairdryer is supplied and a baby cot and highchair can be provided on request.
Outside the freeform swimming pool ranging in depth from 1m 10cm to 1m 80cm is surrounded by a spacious sunbathing terrace furnished with sunbeds, umbrellas, a table and chairs. The pool terrace provides the perfect spot for enjoying an al fresco meal making good use of the barbecue provided.
