Coming in 2009 - Villas in Rhodes
Villa Holidays in Rhodes. The largest of the Dodecanese Islands, surrounded by the Aegean Sea and blessed by Helios the Sun God. In Rhodes the summers seem to last forever as the island enjoys more hours of sunshine than any other, with over 300 days of blue skies. This Crusader Isle was once famous worldwide for the 'Colussos of Rhodes' the impressive bronze statue over 300 metres in height, that stood guard in the harbour for 54 years until it was destroyed by an Earthquake.
A must see on everyone's sightseeing list is the Medieval walled City of Rhodes where the islands most famous occupiers, the Knights Hospitaller left their |

lasting mark. Stunningly well preserved, the City is a national treasure given world heritage status by UNESCO.
Outside of Rhodes Town the island is dotted with small villages and beach resorts. The easy tempo of the village of Haraki, Lardos and Pefkas are where the crowds thin out and lazy days are followed by relaxed evenings.
Lindos, protected by a preservation order presents a stunning visual impact which attracts throngs of daytrippers. Crowned with a fortified Acropolis, sugar cube houses spill down the hillside to the emerald waters of the horseshoe bay at it's base.
Faliraki is shedding it's reputation as an unruly party town and is maturing into an all round resort with one

of the best beaches on the island, a waterpark to entertain children of all ages, an 18 hole golf course and a vibrant nightlife playing cool summer sounds in the warm night air.
For sun and swim lovers, Rhodes boasts a huge number of beaches, 31 of them Blue Flag, which are generally sandy with some being made of fine shingle. They are often wide and perfectly kept and vary from being long and sweeping to being small 'private' coves.
Travel inland to experience sights of a different nature, including the Valley of Butterflies, where literally thousands of butterflies congregate during mating season in a valley near the village of Tholos. Kolymbia, a pretty village, takes its water from the natural springs hidden in a forested area at Seven Springs, where an |

oasis provides the perfect refuge from the heat. The tomb of Ptolemies at Rodini Park, is a must for history lovers and walkers, where the world's earliest landscaped park lies in a green and shady bed of a stream, the perfect environment for wild peacocks, who roam freely.
Rhodes may have been discovered but it certainly hasn't been ruined as the marks carved by it's tumultuous history have become its riches, and its reputation as one of the most popular Greek Islands is well deserved.
